Privacy notice

Updated 30 October 2026. This notice describes the personal email-review feature of Tarkan Home Automations. There is no public registration or service for other people's mailboxes.

Access and purpose

The app requests the Gmail read-and-modify permission to read selected inbox messages and manage review labels. It uses account information to check that the connected mailbox belongs to the owner. It reads message identifiers, sender and subject headers, timestamps, labels, and message bodies. It does not download attachments or follow links found in messages.

Google's permission is broader than the actions enabled in the current workflow. The preview only adds review labels. It does not archive or delete mail, send email, or change read/unread status. Future changes to these uses require an updated disclosure and the owner's authorization.

AI processing and sharing

Selected sender, subject, timestamp, and message-body text is sent to Google's Gemini API to classify mail. Classification results are mapped to the original message identifiers on the owner's server. A summary containing counts, without email subjects or bodies, is sent to the owner's Home Assistant instance.

The app does not sell mailbox information, use it for advertising, or train or fine-tune models. Google's processing and retention are governed by the Gemini API terms, including the terms applicable to the account and region.

Storage and retention

Messages remain in Gmail. OAuth credentials are stored encrypted by n8n on the owner's server, and the client credentials are kept in the owner's password manager. The server's local backups include automation configuration and credentials and normally retain 14 daily archives.

This workflow disables retention of successful, failed, and manual execution payloads. While a run is active or waiting, n8n can temporarily store message data; a server backup taken at that time can include it. Review labels remain in Gmail until the owner removes them. The configured backup process does not automatically copy archives to another service.

Owner control

The owner can disable the workflow, remove its n8n credentials, remove Gmail review labels, or revoke the Google account connection. Revocation prevents further authorized API access. Questions can be directed to the support contact displayed on Google's consent screen.
